Delete your account from within the app

The fastest way to delete your account is directly in the Citizen App:

• Open the CitizenPulse Citizen App and sign in.
• Go to the Profile tab.
• Tap "Delete My Account".
• In the confirmation dialog ("Delete My Account?"), tap "Delete".
• Your account and associated data are then permanently deleted. This action cannot be undone.

Request deletion by email

If you cannot access the app, email info@citizenpulse.in from the email address or with the mobile number registered to your account, with the subject "Delete my account". We will verify that the request comes from the account holder and complete the deletion. We may ask for limited information to confirm your identity before acting on the request.

Data that is deleted

• Account data: your name, mobile number and/or email, password (stored in hashed form) and constituency/area.
• Profile and content you created: comments, opinions, replies, reactions, survey responses, and any media you submitted.
• Device and usage data linked to your account, and any approximate-location preference you enabled.
• Support communications tied to your account.

Data that may be retained, and for how long

• Grievances or concerns already routed to a Representative Office may be retained by that office as part of its official case record, where retention is required to act on or account for the matter. The Representative Office is the Data Fiduciary for that record.
• Records we are required to keep by law, or that are needed to establish, exercise or defend legal claims, to prevent fraud, or to maintain security, are retained only for as long as the applicable law requires.
• Aggregated or de-identified analytics that can no longer be linked to you may be retained.

Timeline

Account deletion from within the app takes effect immediately. Email requests are actioned promptly and completed within 30 days. Backups are purged on our regular backup rotation, after which residual copies are removed. Any legally mandated records are retained only for the period the law requires and are then deleted.
